It's all happening!
Welcome back to Burnt Barn Business.
I hope you’re all well.
I’m writing this just before turning my air conditioning on in my apartment in oh-so-humid Valencia to add a sense of urgency to proceedings. It’s a race against time before the liquid rushing forth from me overwhelms my laptop and it sparks out.
So, first things first, today is the final day to let your shops know you want a copy of Weird Work #2. With the way the world of comic shops works, with books that aren’t guaranteed mega hits, after issue 1 you need to be ordering them in advance or else your shop likely won’t have one for you. And how sad would that be?
Especially, when we have such a temperature raising set of covers for you by Shaky, Warwick Johnson-Cadwell, Brendan McCarthy and Alexis Ziritt.
Make sure your shop knows which ones you want or else they’ll just snag cover As.
Also, if you missed issue 1 then there’s still the possibility your shop can put in a reorder for you.
So, that’s my shillin’ done for the week.
The most exciting thing is an announcement coming this week to coincide with SDCC about a new series I’ve written, which is just the absolute funniest thing I’ve ever written and is a great collaboration with one of my favourite artists to work with.
Keep your eyes peeled this week for that one.
Besides that I’m just doing some re-writes on some yet to be announced projects, putting new pitches together and also ramping up the next thing myself and my Mugshots co-creator Chris Matthews will be doing together.
This is the calm before the storm that is heading my way starting the end of August when I head back to England for NICE in Bedford and finishes with Thought Bubble in November. In between I have a whole heap of conventions, announcements and new releases.
Of course I shall keep all you fine, wonderful people up to date with any and everything as it rushes past.
That’s it for me.
I’ll be back soon with more Burnt Barn Business.
Stay safe out there!
